Health Problems

Are you suffering from some illness or disease? It may be heart problems, muscular problems, cancer, HIV, Aids or any other form of disease or infirmity. You may even suffer some form of disability either from birth or some unfortunate incident or as a result of disease.

By faith in Jesus, you can be healed of all health problems, no matter how serious they may be.

Consider this record of what Jesus did: “And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people.” Matthew 4:23 [Amplified Bible]

Consider this example of His healing power:

“20  And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment;
21  For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.
22  Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter!  Your faith has made you well.  And at once the woman was restored to health.”  Matthew 9:20-22 [Amplified Bible]

The apostle Matthew wrote this about Jesus’ healing power:
“And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah. He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.” Matthew 8:17 [Amplified Bible]

Jesus has already taken our sicknesses and diseases upon Himself and given us healing through what He went through on the cross:  “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” [Isaiah 53:5 New International Version]

We receive this healing by faith, just as you need to accept by faith that He (Jesus Christ) cleansed our sins with His blood when He was crucified.  Jesus said: “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:22 [New King James Version] He also said: “Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.”  John 16:24 [New Living Translation]  As you pray, remember that when it comes to healing, your prayer is not to ask Jesus to heal you (He has already done so), but you thank Him for what He has already done as you declare the healing Scriptures over yourself, in His name.

Not only did Jesus heal us but He gave us (believers) the authority and power to heal others.  The Scripture quoted below is Jesus speaking to the eleven apostles after He had risen from death:
“15  And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16  ‘He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17  ‘And these signs will follow those who believe; in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18  ‘they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’ ” Mark 16:15-18 [New King James Version] (My emphasis)

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” [James 5:14 New King James Version]

Remember though that while for some healing is immediate (i.e. a miracle in which the illness and symptoms disappear immediately), for others, symptoms may persist beyond the prayer.  That does not mean the prayer is unheard or denied.  What is required is to hold on in faith, expecting the symptoms to disappear.  If during this time that you are waiting, you are receiving medical treatment, there is no basis in Scripture for you to stop taking such treatment or not to seek medical assistance.  Repeatedly declare verbally, thanking God, that by Jesus’ stripes (wounds) you have been healed, no matter what your circumstances may be (this is how you activate faith – by declaring what you believe, no matter what your current circumstances are). “… faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” 1 James 2:17 [New King James Version] Declaring (confessing) the promise of your healing while believing in it is the “works” required.  Jesus said “… for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.”  [Matthew 17:20 New King James Version] (My emphasis)  [Read the article How To Exercise Faith.]

If your symptoms do not disappear immediately, do not waste your time trying to understand why, questioning the depth of your faith – you will probably never be able to figure out the answers to such questions.  Focus instead on His love for you, His grace and know that He is in control.   Remember that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. [Romans 8:28] We must put our faith in Him and entrust Him with our lives – knowing that He has our best interests at heart, because of His unfailing love for us and His desire to be present and active in our lives.  It is only when we surrender all to Him and depend on the truth of His word that we live in faith, as the Scriptures require us to: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” [Hebrews 11:6 New King James Version]

Believe that Jesus Christ healed you when He was crucified, as the Scripture says.  You can pray and declare the healing Scriptures over yourself for your healing (i.e. appropriate by faith what Jesus has already done for you).  If you wish other believers to pray for you, go to your local Bible-based church and request a prayer for such healing.  They may simply pray over you or lay hands on you and pray for you or anoint you with oil as they pray for you.  This is all Scriptural.

Just in case you don’t believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ, the author of this article has personally experienced such healing and also witnessed dramatic healing miracles in church services.  I have witnessed, among other miracles, a number of people who had unequal legs (i.e. one leg shorter than the other) have their shorter leg physically extend (i.e. grow) instantly (within about 5 to 15 seconds) to a length equal to the other, in full view of the congregation!  These miracles are documented – they are not fairytales.  Jesus is alive and He heals!

It all starts with believing in Jesus Christ.  Don’t you want to invite Him into your life?
How Do You Receive Christ into Your Life?

If you would like to receive the gift of salvation that God has for you today, make a decision in your own heart that you want to be forgiven of your sins and that you wish to turn your back on a sinful life. Believe in the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ [Mark 1:15]. The Bible says if you confess with your mouth (i.e. actually say it) that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will receive salvation [Romans 10:9-10]. Salvation is open to any human being who calls upon the name of the Lord [Romans 10:12-13].

If you want to get saved right now:

First silently read the text in the paragraph below and make sure you understand it. It is a confession prayer you can use to get born again this very moment.

If in your heart you agree with the content of the statement below then, read it again, but this time say it with your mouth out loud as you read it:

“Father, I thank You that you sent Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to take my sins and my punishment.  Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me and that God raised You from the dead.  Today I confess that You are my Lord and my Saviour.  Father, forgive me of all of my sins.  Thank You Father that today, by Your grace, I am born again, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.”
