Failure

Failure

Have you failed at something?  Are you discouraged by the failure you have experienced?  What does the Bible teach us about failure?

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Psalm 37:23-24 [New King James Version] (my emphasis)

“… a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, [b]ut the wicked shall fall by calamity.” Proverbs 24:16 [New King James Version]

“The LORD upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 145:14 [New King James Version]

God has not forsaken you.  God said to Joshua “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you.  He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 [New King James Version]

Jesus said: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 [New King James Version] (my emphasis)

“Because of the covenant I made with you, sealed with blood, I will free your prisoners from death in a waterless dungeon.  Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.” Zechariah 9:11-12 [New Living Translation]

Despite all that you may have gone through, remember not to lose confidence and trust in God.  “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.” Hebrews 10:35 [New King James Version]

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 [New Living Translation]

Even through your disappointment, remain at peace. Jesus said: “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.  So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 [New Living Translation]

You can only have the confidence and peace the above Scriptures refer to through all your troubles and disappointments if you know that Jesus is with you through all.  This can only happen once you have received Jesus in your life as your Lord and Saviour.

How Do You Receive Christ into Your Life?

If you would like to receive the gift of salvation that God has for you today, make a decision in your own heart that you want to be forgiven of your sins and that you wish to turn your back on a sinful life. Believe in the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ [Mark 1:15]. The Bible says if you confess with your mouth (i.e. actually say it) that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will receive salvation [Romans 10:9-10]. Salvation is open to any human being who calls upon the name of the Lord [Romans 10:12-13].

If you want to get saved right now:

First silently read the text in the paragraph below and make sure you understand it. It is a confession prayer you can use to get born again this very moment.

If in your heart you agree with the content of the statement below then, read it again, but this time say it with your mouth out loud as you read it:

“Father, I thank You that you sent Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to take my sins and my punishment.  Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me and that God raised You from the dead.  Today I confess that You are my Lord and my Saviour.  Father, forgive me of all of my sins.  Thank You Father that today, by Your grace, I am born again, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.”
